Robert Plant at Lake Tahoe

So the weekend starts off in Harvey’s Lake Tahoe , and the last time I stayed there It was my birthday years ago . I also think it was our first time staying at Harvey’s. The room we got was a suite with 2 rooms and views of the lake , it has a tub you could lay in and see the lake. This time we get a nice young lady with an accent checking us in and she said we “qualified for a upgrade”…oh great I think.

The upgrade I think this time was a bed and a working toilet , very disappointed. But the casino floor was where I would be spending most of my time so I didn’t say anything. The machines were not doing bad and ended up staying out to late and i knew what that ment ( hangover ) .

The next day ( after something for my head ) we ate at Ace’s Smoke House for the 2nd time and again they have to be the best BBQ in Tahoe. We had some friends coming up for the show and they used a Lyft a few time’s and said it wasn’t that expensive.

As for the show I didn’t think I would get to see Robert Plant before he or I died , the show was so good .

Los lobos was the warmup band and they sounded good and the area was so small you could see everything . The crowd was a mix of older folks but that is what I expected.

Robert Plant sounded so awesome and the he didn’t miss a beat for the whole show.

Weekend in Arizona

Went down to Cottonwood , AZ for the weekend before it got to hot to visit with some friends. This town is just so cute it reminds me a lot of California but the people were great and so many places to eat and drink for such a small town.

We rented a house and it was a steep hill to get the place , after wine that was real fun. We did a Safari something I thought was odd in AZ, but it was fun to 4 wheel in the dirt. And there were more “wine tasting” places then I could visit in a few days.

And OMG the food

Trump demands FCC put tracking app on all Americans phones

With the end of net neutrality in sight the FCC chairman Agit Pai is getting pressure from the White House ( more from Pres. Trump ) to put a tracking and info grabbing app on your phone. The law would be mandatory for all US citizens not only people with visa’s visiting the US.

The FCC referred to phone-tracking in another case and its been talked about by White House staff for everyone. At this time there was no response from the large cell providers , but since they are tracking and selling Americans data it would not be hard for them to just flip a switch and hand Trump all the info he wants.

The last month has been….

I know I have not posted in a while but the last month has been rough , not on a personal level or anything, but on a computer point. So I buy one of the high end joysticks that the friends I play with have, and that is where the fun starts.

X-56 joystick by Saitek was the stick that I ordered and it was not cheap, 103 key combo’s times 3 so you have almost unlimited set ups for air and ground . This was a Amazon buy from a seller I had not used before. I connected the new stick and it seemed that everything was working fine on the new computer .

First off the software can be programmed to do keyboard commands with the touch of a button. This should work out great, till days go by and I find out nothing I’m programmed worked. After looking up fixes and trial and error I reinstalled the software and now the programming is working.

So during all of this on the new gaming rig I just built I’m playing a shooter game with the grandson and the system locks up hard. I almost couldn’t get Windows to restart it was that bad, found out it was The onboard sound card ( I should have known better) had died.

Fine I say and replace the sound card with one from my old rig. Plug the Saitek and continue programming, and now everything is pulling to the right on takeoff. After some advice from a friend and more testing ( and by testing I mean drunken raints) 3 weeks in I send it back for the “new version” of the stick.

Now a week with the new sick that had the same software problem, I’m back to game programming…wish me luck.
